Momentum to End Washington’s Obamacare Exemption

Even though they’re clearly not ready for primetime, the Obamacare Exchanges go into full effect next week. And unless we act soon, Washington insiders will get a special exemption that the rest of America won’t.

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) made a decision that the government can continue to make an employer contribution to the health plans of congressional members and staff – even though more than eight million Americans will lose their employer coverage.

Washington is treating itself like a select ruling class, and it’s outrageous. That’s why I’ve introduced legislation that would require that all Members of Congress, the President, Vice President, and all political appointees in the Administration must purchase their health insurance on the Obamacare Exchange without the help of taxpayer-funded subsidies.

I’d like to hear from you about this. Click here to review my legislation to prevent the Washington Exemption from Obamacare, and if you agree, you can become a Citizen Co-sponsor. More than 12,000 people have already signed on as Citizen Co-sponsors. You can become one today!

I’ve been gaining support for my legislation in Congress, and the Wall Street Journal recently wrote an op-ed supporting it too. Click here to read the Wall Street Journal’s op-ed.

My list of co-sponsors is growing too. Senators Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.), Dean Heller (R-Nev.), Mike Lee (R-Utah), Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas) have signed on to my legislation.

If folks in Washington are going to force Obamacare on the rest of America, they need to live by its provisions, too. Maybe then they’d see what a train wreck the law really is — and exempt all of America from it.
